NHS Pharmacy First Services

The NHS Pharmacy First service makes it easier for patients to access advice and treatment for a range of common conditions without needing to wait for a GP appointment. Through this service, our trained pharmacy team can provide confidential clinical advice, assess symptoms and, where appropriate, offer NHS-funded treatment for eligible patients.

Adults and children aged 12 years and over with symptoms of acute sinusitis may be eligible for support under the Pharmacy First service. We can assess your symptoms, offer clinical advice and provide treatment where appropriate to help relieve discomfort and support recovery.

Children and young people aged 1 to 17 with earache may be able to receive advice and treatment through Pharmacy First. Our pharmacy team can assess symptoms and provide appropriate support for eligible patients, helping families access care quickly and conveniently.

Patients aged 5 years and over with symptoms of a sore throat may be able to access assessment and treatment through Pharmacy First. Our team can offer professional advice, assess symptoms and provide appropriate treatment where clinically suitable.

Women aged 16 to 64 with symptoms of an uncomplicated urinary tract infection may be eligible for advice and treatment through the Pharmacy First service. Our pharmacy team can assess symptoms in a private consultation room and, where appropriate, provide treatment without the need for a GP appointment.

Patients aged 1 year and over with symptoms of an infected insect bite may be able to access care through Pharmacy First. Our team can assess the affected area, provide advice and, where appropriate, offer treatment to help manage infection and discomfort.

Adults and children aged 1 year and over with symptoms of impetigo may be eligible for treatment through the Pharmacy First service. We can provide a clinical assessment, professional advice and treatment where suitable, helping to manage symptoms promptly and effectively.

Adults aged 18 years and over with symptoms of shingles may be able to receive support and treatment through Pharmacy First. Our pharmacy team can assess symptoms, offer clinical guidance and provide appropriate treatment for eligible patients where indicated.
